The Division Beta extended until Tuesday

The Division Beta extended until Tuesday

After being waitlisted for a day, I spent a fair bit of time over the weekend playing The Division. I'm saving my judgment for the game until the full release, but it's safe to say that I enjoyed it enough to keep playing it for a while. If you've been sad that the beta ended last night, I've got some good news for you.

PS4 has outsold the Xbox One nearly 2 to 1

PS4 has outsold the Xbox One nearly 2 to 1

In the great Console Wars, there are really only two names that matter. Nintendo has always been an outlier, as they target different audiences, and rarely support the same games as the other two. Unfortunately, in this round, Microsoft has declined to decline releasing official sales numbers for the Xbox One, so it makes it harder to judge how each side is faring, in comparison to the other.

Dangerous Golf brings powerups and destruction to the game

Dangerous Golf brings powerups and destruction to the game

I have a strange relationship with golf. I've played a few games with friends over the years. It's enjoyable, but not something I go out of my way to do. Putt-putt, on the other hand, is something that I could do all day long. My relationship with video game versions of golf are similar. I can enjoy serious ones with friends, but give me something a little more silly, and I'll probably enjoy it a lot more. Which is exactly why I'm looking forward to Dangerous Golf.

‘Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime’ arrives on PS4 soon

The trippy game Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 early next month, giving gamers on Sony’s console a chance to voyage into psychedelic battle. The game involves a round kind of strange-but-fun spaceship in which the gamer and either a second player or an “AI pet” dash about firing all manner of weapons at “the evil forces of Anti-Love.”

Rock Band 1 tracks are now available on PS4

Rock Band 1 tracks are now available on PS4

I've been a big fan of Harmonix's take on the rhythm gaming genre, ever since the first Rock Band was announced. Perhaps one of my favorite features was the idea that the music you purchased would be compatible with future titles. It's taking some time for the company to make good on that for their latest release, but we're finally seeing some progress.

‘Psychonauts’ game arrives on PlayStation 4 this spring

The classic PS2 game Psychonauts will be arriving on the PlayStation 4 this upcoming spring, according to Double Fine Productions’ James Stafford. PSN is down, it’s not just you (again)

The PlayStation Network is down and Sony isn't sure when it'll be back up again. It's time to speak with your significant other again. It's time you found out how many children you have running around the house. It's time to speak with your tax representative. The PlayStation Network is experiencing issues in Account Management, Gaming and Social, PlayStation Now, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Vue, PlayStation Store, and PlayStation Music at this time. If you're checking off your checklist of PSN services, that's the whole lot.

Modders hack PS4 to run Linux and Pokemon

It's been some since we've heard about impressive mods to get game consoles running software and games they're not meant to, but thanks to Failoverflow, a collective of console hackers, there's something new to closeout 2015 with. The group has managed to hack Sony's PlayStation 4 to install the Linux operating system on it, taking advantage of the console's fairly standard PC architecture.

PlayStation 4 Christmas gift is a block of wood

PlayStation 4 Christmas gift is a block of wood

A Christmas gift from no less than Santa Clause himself was opened this past week with a less-than-fantastic bit of content. Inside the box was a block of wood instead of the console itself. Cut to a similar size and placed in the box, apparently without signs of damage to the box itself. Amazing that Santa would have such a strange mishap, yes? As it turned out, Santa purchased this particular PS4 from a local Target store, where they were more than willing to take the box back and, in addition, give the parents of the gift-getter a $100 gift card for their trouble.

No Force Awakens DLC for Battlefront

Now that a large portion of people have seen The Force Awakens, fans are wondering when they're going to be able to get inside of that universe again. Specifically, when they're going to be able to play a game set in that same time period. After all, who doesn't want to mow down some TIE's like Poe? Well, if you're hoping to get into some TFA action in Battlefront, you're going to be disappointed.

New Battlefield 4 DLC has an insane Easter egg hidden inside

New Battlefield 4 DLC has an insane Easter egg hidden inside

Finding Easter eggs in games is a lot of fun. Usually you'll stumble onto something that is a reference to an earlier game, or some other piece of pop culture. However, other times they lead to a puzzle that, if solved, can give you access to something rather unique. Well, Battlefield 4's latest free DLC had one of the craziest Easter eggs I've ever seen.
