Dragon Quest XI announced as first Nintendo NX game

The makers of Dragon Quest, not only the most popular RPG, but the biggest games series of all time in Japan, earlier today announced the eleventh title in the main series. Developers Square Enix held a 90-minute long live-stream broadcast to announce Dragon Quest XI for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS, with a tentative release sometime next year. But even more shocking was the fact that the game was announced for the "NX," Nintendo's mysterious next game system.

67-year old Schwarzenegger recreates iconic Terminator 2 bar scene

In an effort to promote his special appearance in a wrestling video game (WWE 2K16), Arnold Schwarzenegger has recreated his role as the Terminator from T2: Judgement Day. It is here that he re-enters the biker bar in the nude, demanding of a biker: "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle." Of course this biker and the rest of the patrons of the bar are all wrestlers - but that's not going to change anything, really. He'll still get the cigar jammed into his chest, and we can assume the rest of the carnage will follow.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming to the PS4 and PC

Rise of the Tomb Raider was snapped up as an Xbox offering, but as it turns out, it will be making its way to other devices as well: namely, the PlayStation 4 and PC. Square Enix announced that it will be available on Steam early next year, and that those on Sony’s gaming console will also get access, but will need to wait more than a year, as it won’t be arriving until 2016’s holiday season. Whether those with a PlayStation 3 will get access wasn’t mentioned, and therefore it isn’t looking likely.

R2-D2 themed PlayBook 4 is perfect for rebels

In October of 2014, we talked a bit about a slick device called the PlayBook 4 that turned a PS4 game console into a notebook of sorts for on the go gaming. You can’t type on the PlayBook 4 or surf the web like a normal notebook, but you can play PS4 games wherever you can find an outlet with this thing. A new version of that PlayBook has surfaced that is themed like your favorite astromech R2-D2.

Mortal Kombat X brings the rock with Tremor

Mortal Kombat X brings the rock with Tremor

The final Mortal Kombat X component of the Kombat Pack has arrived in this week's bundle. The bits and pieces you get here include new skins and a whole new character: Tremor. This fellow is rather rocky. He's basically Jax, but with rock arms instead of metal. He's also got less rockets going for him and more magic. Almost like he's Sandman from Spider-Man, but with more rocks and less sand. You may well have seen him before, too - he first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Special Forces.

You may remember that in early June, the Kickstarter campaign from Koji Igarashi, producer of the well-known Castlevania video game series, for his new title Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, set a new record for the most funded game on the crowdfunding platform. Unfortunately, Bloodstained hasn't been able to hold onto the title for very long. With roughly 11 hours left (as of this writing), Shenmue 3 is the new record holder, raising over $5.6 million.

Unlike recent games, this one pays proper homage to your childhood, complete with original G1 styles, cel-shaded visuals, and that oh so satisfying transforming sound effect.
