I was an Avengers’ Black Widow apologist before today

Last month I was an Avengers: Age of Ultron apologist for the likes of Black Widow (and to a lesser extent Hawkeye). I saw the press materials without the two of these folks, and I was with the camp that said the Main Men were More Marketable. They are, aren't they? Captian America, Thor, Iron Man, and The Hulk - they're all really recognizable. But to steal a toy from Our Lady Of The Kill - isn't that going too far? Captain America, can't you just let her have this one?

LEGO Star Wars Death Star Final Duel revealed in full

LEGO Star Wars Death Star Final Duel revealed in full

To celebrate May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day, LEGO has revealed their next Star Wars themed set - Death Star Final Duel. This is the same set you may have seen shown at Toy Fair earlier this year as photographed by intrepid toy-goers - today we get to see it up close and personal. Of particular interest in this set is the fact that, for the first time in a LEGO Minifigure, Darth Vader's helmet comes in two parts. There's a life support collar below his head and a removable mask/helmet above.

Another Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, this time in LEGO

Another Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, this time in LEGO

Some people just have a lot of time in their hands. Or lots of creativity. And definitely lots and lots of LEGO pieces. The group of "quirky artists" at Brotherhood Workshop probably qualify for all those. Combining months of hard work, scene by scene analysis, and a whole load of LEGO, the groups was able to recreate one of the earliest trailers for Avengers: Age of Ultron. They have just released their own LEGO stylized trailer, and just in time to welcome the premiere of the non-LEGO film this week.

LEGO Tatooine Mini-build set shown off before launch

LEGO Tatooine Mini-build set shown off before launch

LEGO will be introducing a new Star Wars set in the near future, another joining its already expansive set of Star Wars offerings. This one is a mini build set, meaning it won’t come with too many parts (it's not exactly tiny, though, with more than 100 pieces) and is small in nature, but will nicely complement some existing LEGO creations. It is the Tatooine Mini-build playset, and we have now got some looks at the build, showing exactly what fans can expect when it arrives.

Latest Lego Ideas kit, Titanic could be most massive yet

Latest Lego Ideas kit, Titanic could be most massive yet

The latest design to reach the second stage of Lego Ideas product development is an enormous replica of the Titanic. If this Lego kit makes it all the way to production, it would be the biggest single kit every produced. The project was designed for Lego Ideas which is a crowdsourced platform that can bring anyone's concepts for a new Lego set to fruition. If a project gathers 10,000 supporters on the site, then it will be eligible for a special review after which it could go into production.

LEGO Dimensions: many worlds, one platform, one game

LEGO Dimensions: many worlds, one platform, one game

At last, all LEGO brands can play in harmony in a digital video game. Joel McHale is here to deliver a message to the masses on what it'll mean to take LEGO characters like Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle, and jam them all into a single video game called LEGO Dimensions. This game works with a single starter game, a portal, and expansions that'll span well into the future. Place your LEGO character or creation on the platform and it'll be pushed into a LEGO universe you control!

LEGO Computer combination is like Peanut Butter & Jelly

LEGO Computer combination is like Peanut Butter & Jelly

There are just some things that are not only great in themselves but are also great when taken together with something just as great. For some, that would PB & J. For Mike Schropp of Total Geekdom, that would be LEGO and computers. Building on his years of experience housing computing power inside the popular bricks, Schropp has finally decided to get his hands dirty and build what is probably a geek's biggest dream come true. But while this box made of LEGO from the outside might seem unassuming, make no mistake as this computer could be just as powerful as your laptop, or maybe even more.

LEGO may jump in on Amiibo craze soon

LEGO may jump in on Amiibo craze soon

The gaming universe and LEGO aren't unfamiliar with one another. A whole barrage of LEGO-themed games have been released over the past several years, and there doesn't appear to be any end to the releases well into the future. There's even an online role-playing game you can play where (some) figures you collect in real life can be brought into the game. Until now, this was all done with simple, rudimentary code-entering. The next step should be rather obvious to those familiar with Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and Amiibo figures.

Father, daughter team recreate Jurassic Park using $100k worth of Lego

Father, daughter team recreate Jurassic Park using $100k worth of Lego

These days, we've got Lego collaborating and releasing brick sets based on nearly every Hollywood action/adventure movie, video games about Lego versions of superheroes, and even Lego staring in their own movie. Well, as further proof of Lego's continuing dominance over popular culture, this news is about a father and daughter who recreated the original Jurassic Park film as a three-minute stop-motion movie using Lego. $100,000 worth of Lego, that is. There was a little bit of movie-making magic included as well, but the results are cute and just as cool as the original 1993 film.

LEGO Jurassic World game trailer goes live

LEGO Jurassic World game trailer goes live

In late January, news of the upcoming LEGO Jurassic World game surfaced alongside some related details. For starters, the game is set to cover all four of the movies, and it'll be doing so in typical fun LEGO-gaming fashion. Though the game hasn't yet arrived (it'll be dropping later this summer), we have finally gotten a look at what it has to offer in the form of an official game trailer. There's very little actual gameplay footage, unfortunately, but it doesn't leave much to the imagination.
