Microsoft Kinect detailed; new Xbox 360 Slim leaks on video

So, Project Natal has become Microsoft Kinect, and the company has spilt the beans on their new motion gaming system for Xbox 360.  The Kinect hardware looks little changed from what we've seen in promo shots up until now, though with a change of color from white to black, but we now have more idea of what sort of games will be offered.  Meanwhile an Italian advert has apparently scooped Microsoft to showing off their new Xbox 360 Slim design.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Slim to Debut at E3 if Rumors Prove True

We're no stranger to rumors about Microsoft slimming down their prodigal home console, the Xbox 360. We've even shown you pictures of what it might look like. And we're not surprised at all to hear that the rumors aren't dying down, especially so close to the first day of E3. With Microsoft set to announce quite a few things, a redesign to the 360 seems a perfect fit. And, if rumors from Fudzilla are to be believed, that's exactly what Microsoft has up their sleeve.

Nintendo 3DS mockup suggests asymmetric screens

This, according to Kotaku's mock-up artists, is what we should expect from the Nintendo 3DS when the 3D-capable gaming handheld makes its official debut at E3 next week.  The design, based on a sketch by a Chinese blogger who apparently claims to have a 3DS development kit, certainly fits in with what we've seen before of Nintendo's testing hardware; the upper display would be the glasses-free 3D panel believed to be sourced from Sharp, while the lower would be a touchscreen of the same aspect ratio as the current DSi.

Project Natal shipping to Microsoft in August but no mass production until 2011?

Microsoft is promising to take the wraps off of their Project Natal motion gaming system for Xbox 360 at E3, but until then we've only rumors and leaks to tide us over.  Latest is from the shadowy Taiwanese sources whispering to DigiTimes, who reckon that while Foxconn and Flextronics - Microsoft's hardware producing partners - will start shipping Natal in August, mass shipments aren't expected to kick off until 2011.
