Samsung 1.3MP and 2.1MP webcam sensors record up to 1080p HD

Samsung Electronics have announced two new laptop webcam CMOS sensors, the S5K6A1 and S5K5B3, which the company reckons are good enough to grab real-time HD video at 30fps.  Intended for video conferencing and recording, the 1.3-megapixel S5K6A1 and 2.1-megapixel S5K5B3 chips also support a high-speed VGA mode for low-bandwidth connections.

If Toshiba's new UX600 series HDTVs are slightly out of your price range, the company has a fair few other new models to choose from too.  The G300, E200 and C100 are all standalone LCD HDTVs, while the CV100 LCD throws an integrated DVD player into the mixture.  All four have similar "Horizon" stylings as the more expensive sets, but with sizes kicking off from 18.5-inches and prices from $249.99.

Mio Moov V780 MID gets hands-on video: promising but pricey

Mio's Moov V780 hybrid MID/PND device certainly has potential, at least going from the spec sheet, with a 7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, WiFi b/g and optional 3G and WiMAX, together with 720p HD video output capabilities.  What we didn't know was pricing, and according to jkkmobile - who caught up with the Moov V780 at CeBIT 2010 this week - that may be where the Mio tablet hides its sting.  Still, there are hints of an Android update in the future, and a bit of a surprise about the CPU.

Acer have announced two new projectors, which are capable of creating 3D visuals using NVIDIA's 3D Vision system.  The Acer H5360 and Acer X1261 - intended for home entertainment and work/home/school use, respectively - can project in stereoscopic 3D, with the H5360 outputting in 720p HD resolution with 2,500 lumens brightness and 16:9 aspect ratio.

The prospect of a 7-inch Android internet tablet running a relatively laggardly 600MHz ARM9 processor left us doubtful about Archos' new Archos 7 Home Tablet, but according to a very enthusiastic Charbax we shouldn't be so concerned.  He's been playing with the Archos 7 for a few days now, and is reporting reasonable browsing speeds, 720p HD playback and 7hrs usage from a full charge.

Having been prematurely revealed yesterday, Sony Ericsson have officially announced the Vivaz S60 smartphone, the device formerly known as the Kurara.  Expected to drop in Q1 2010, the Vivaz has an 8.1-megapixel autofocus camera capable of 720p HD video recording, 3G and WiFi.  A couple of European bloggers have already managed to grab some hands-on time with the phone.

Lurking in among the lenses, mattebox, external microphone and video viewfinder is Dan Chung's Canon EOS 7D, while after the cut you can see the HD video he shot around an hour after picking the new uber-DSLR up from his local store.  Filmed in low light at 1600 to 6400 ISO, it's left Chung - and us - mightily impressed at the EOS 7D's abilities.

ODROID Android handheld gets HD TV/gaming video demo

Last we saw of the ODROID Android Entertainment device was a spec-sheet and some tiny images; now, at least, we know they have a working prototype.  The company has sent us a video demonstrating the ODROID's HD movie-out connectivity, as well as some big-screen gameplay, with the gaming handheld's ARM Cortex A8 processor proving just as capable as we've seen from the iPhone 3GS.
