HTC EVO 4G Review

HTC EVO 4G Review

Long anticipated, hugely specified and just plain huge: there's a lot to like about the HTC EVO 4G. The first WiMAX phone in the US brings with it the promise of DSL-like mobile data access along with the flexibility of Google's Android OS, complete with HTC's now-legendary hardware quality and flexible Sense UI. On the flip side it's nowhere near cheap and WiMAX coverage is marginal. Is this new superphone faster than a speeding bullet, or is that just how quickly it drains its battery? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Sharp 3D camera module unveiled: headed to Nintendo 3DS?

Sharp are already tipped to be among the companies Nintendo is considering for the 2D/3D display on the upcoming Nintendo 3DS; how interesting would it be if they also supplied the handheld with a 3D-capable camera?  Sharp have just announced a 3D camera module for mobile devices that's not only capable of capturing twin 720p HD video streams but of synchronizing the footage and controlling the optical axis.

Canon IXUS 300 HS digicam: 10MP with 720p HD & HDMI [Update: US launch too]

If we're blunt, Canon's new IXUS 300 HS point-and-shoot doesn't quite have the appeal of Sony's new NEX pair, but it promises to be a whole lot more affordable (and approachable for mainstream users) than the interchangeable lens models.  The IXUS 300 HS packs a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 3.8x optical zoom, and can capture 720p HD footage or 240fps super-slow-motion video.

Update: Canon USA have announced the same camera, only as the Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS Digital ELPH.  It'll arrive in the US at the end of May 2010, priced at $349.99.

Toshiba G300, E200, C100 & CV100 HDTVs arrive

If Toshiba's new UX600 series HDTVs are slightly out of your price range, the company has a fair few other new models to choose from too.  The G300, E200 and C100 are all standalone LCD HDTVs, while the CV100 LCD throws an integrated DVD player into the mixture.  All four have similar "Horizon" stylings as the more expensive sets, but with sizes kicking off from 18.5-inches and prices from $249.99.
