4K 21.5-inch iMac revealed in El Capitan Beta build

Inside the newest build of OS X El Capitan comes mention of Apple's newest desktop device, one with a 21.5-inch 4K display. While we can't be 100% certain this is a display aimed at a new iMac, Apple's desktop and laptop lineup do leave room right this moment for just such a device. This would make way for the current 21.5-inch iMac to be retired while a new version with 4096 x 2304 pixels to come through. This device will likely be revealed by Apple within the next couple of months.

Samsung NX mini 2 leaked to bring 4K to mirrorless compact

It's been well over a year since Samsung brought the NX mini to light, a petite member of its mirrorless NX camera family. So it is no surprise to hear word that a successor is already close to being revealed. Named the NX mini 2, because what else would it be called, this mirrorless compact presents somewhat of a mixed bag, removing some features in exchange for new ones. The biggest draw for this mini camera, however, will be its ability to shoot 4K videos in such a small size.

Hitbox to livestream games at 4K res, 60fps

Amazon and Twitch will probably start to feel the heat real soon. Hitbox, a startup that has been in business for quite some time now, has revealed a rather ambitious undertaking. It will soon allow and support streaming live using 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, more than either YouTube or Twitch allows, at least at the moment.

Samsung NX500 Review – the TARDIS of cameras

Samsung NX500 Review – the TARDIS of cameras

Is a bigger camera necessarily better? Or, put a different way, does a big sensor need to have a big body wrapped around it? Samsung would argue no, and the NX500 is its evidence. Distilling much of the NX1 into a form-factor only slightly larger than a point-and-shoot, it’s 28.2-megapixels of interchangeable lens camera with a 4K video recording bonus. Samsung can’t work miracles, mind, especially for $799 with a lens thrown in, and so there are some compromises to consider along the way.
