Microsoft is talking up the new friction hinge of its Surface Pro 3 tablet, and how it works with the new Type Cover that has been redesigned for better lap use and more. The Surface Pro 3 can now be adjusted to lie nearly flat, at up to 150-degrees back, which Microsoft's Panos Panay describes as a very "intentful" angle for art and such. There's also a new docking station for the Windows tablet.
Sony's 4K Ultra HD Media Player has been priced up, for 4K TV owners hoping for some on-demand ultra-high-definition content to actually make the most of their expensive sets. The box, which is expected to ship in July, supports both Sony's own Video Unlimited 4K service, which has over 200 Sony Pictures films, along with around 50 TV shows, all in 4K, as well as Netflix's 4K streaming.
Sony has been working on getting more 4K resolution TVs onto the market under its Bravia brand for a long time. While some of its more recent 4K TVs came out of the box with support for 4K video streaming in HEVC H.265 standard, some of the older 4k sets from Sony didn't. To remedy that issue, Sony has announced a new 4K media streaming box.

Churchill Downs, the horse racing park where the Kentucky Derby is held, has announced that it has teamed up with Panasonic to install what is being called the "Big Board." Big Board is a massive 4K display that Panasonic claims will be the world's largest.
GoPro will soon be revealing its next compact video camera, the GoPro Hero4, and has already been the subject of leaks and rumors. This latest round contains quite a few pieces of information coming from system-on-chip manufacturer Ambarella, the very same one that provides the chips for GoPro's other cameras.
Sony has announced the pricing and availability of its latest BRAVIA 4K Ultra HD televisions, with nine models going up for presale (they hit shelves in June). Info for the XBR-X950B and XBR-X900B series models have been announced, with a small tidbit tossed in that an entry-level XBR-X850B series will be arriving some time this year.
Toshiba has announced they will be bringing 4K to your laptop. Their P55t device, which launches later this month, has a 15.6-inch Ultra HD TruBrite touchscreen display has a 3840 x 2160 resolution at 282 PPI. The laptop is the first to ever receive Technicolor certification, too.
Among the cameras introduced at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Blackmagic has introduced a new 4K professional camcorder that stands out, not the least of which is due to its massive 10-inch Full HD flip-out display. The camcorder was designed to look futuristic, and is machined out of aluminum.
