T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G hands-on

Here at Mobile World Congress while sorting through the madness we were able to get some hands-on photos of the newest 4G member of the T-Mobile family. T-Mobile USA: 10 LTE devices in 2013 plus 4G iPhone support

T-Mobile USA will have ten LTE devices up for sale by the end of 2013, the carrier's chief technical officer has revealed, with 4G service across 50 markets as well as for the iPhone. Speaking on T-Mobile's so-called "Challenger Strategy" conference call today, CTO Neville Ray described how the carrier would juggle its spectrum holdings to better server a new breed of high-speed hardware. T-Mobile USA isn't just planning an LTE network, it's "making amazing 4G services affordable" the carrier claims, as part of its "Challenger Strategy" to claw back subscribers from its rivals. Having blamed the lure of the iPhone 4S for stealing contract customers away in Q4 2011, T-Mobile USA now faces the perhaps tricky task of developing two networks it calls "4G" - HSPA+ and LTE - without leaving customers confused. UK 4G LTE in 2012 says Everything Everywhere

UK carriers Orange and T-Mobile plan to launch a 4G LTE network in the country later this year, combined comms company Everything Everywhere has announced, with 1800MHz trials kicking off in one city come April. Bristol will be the first to get 1800MHz LTE from the carriers, while Orange and T-Mobile subscribers across the UK will be able to use their 3G modem to get the best signal, no matter which of the two carriers they're with, from mid-March. ZTE reveals 8 new phones imminent: Android and WP7

ZTE has already shown us three of its LTE-toting smartphones for Mobile World Congress next week; now the company has admitted it has a further five waiting in the wings for the smartphone show too. In addition to the Tegra 3-based ZTE Mimosa X, along with the PF200 and N910, the company has a range of other devices running Android and Windows Phone (ZTE actually says "Windows Mobile" but we're assuming that's a mistake) that it hopes will help propel it into the the top three handset companies by 2015. T-Mobile USA LTE in 2013 as iPhone pumps churn

T-Mobile USA has confirmed its plans to launch an LTE network in 2013, though the carrier has faced slumping revenues in Q4 2011 as subscribers jump ship to the iPhone 4S available from its rivals. "Not carrying the iPhone led to a significant increase in contract deactivations in the fourth quarter of 2011" CEO and president Philipp Humm conceded today, before announcing a $1.4bn network modernization investment plan for this year and next as it begins to make use of the huge chunk of AWS spectrum AT&T is handing over as compensation after acquisition plans collapsed. Verizon LTE down across the US: It’s not just you

Today a nationwide outage of LTE networks is hitting the USA and Verizon has been vocal about being on the case with a fix as soon as possible. If you're experiencing data loss in Houson, Dallas, Memphis, greater California, and New York City, you're not alone, though you are unique if you're not able to access 3G data, as Verizon has also noted that all 3G services are operating as they ought to be. LightSquared dims as 45% of workforce is slashed

While the managers of the company continue to fight to get their proposed wireless 4G network approved, denials keep streaming in. Google to have ‘smart glasses’ by end of 2012

That may sound like the kind of stuff you can get by taking out your smartphone and opening a couple apps, but Google wants it to happen right in front of your face. Nokia opens LTE lab in California

Nokia Siemens Networks is opening a brand new facility in Silicon Valley to work on testing and implementing new technologies based on the emerging 4G LTE standard. The company will allow manufacturers and software developers to test their products on high-sped mobile broadband networks and receive analysis on how those products are performing in an LTE environment. This is the latest mobile lab owned by Nokia Siemens Networks. The company also owns facilities in Finland, France, and South Korea, as well as another one in the US in Dallas. Read The Full Story
