Valentine's might be over, but who can really resist a chocolate treat any time of the year. Especially when it comes in a bite-size form of a Ford Mustang that will surely give car lovers with a sweet tooth something to drool over.
Today the teams at 3D Systems and The Hershey Company have announced that they'll be teaming up to bring their own special blend of 3D-printed chocolates to the universe. Lucky you, SlashGear had a bit of time with the 3D printers they'll be using to make it all happen at CES 2014. While we just saw their usage in the sugar arena, it was clear last week that chocolate was next on the docket!
In the 3D realm of CES 2014 we caught up with 3D Systems, a crew that brought so many new products and services to the show that it was difficult keeping up with it all! Two of the more late-breaking items we were introduced to were the Chef Jet and the Chef Jet Pro, both of them capable food-safe 3D printing. Both printers are fully certified and ready to head to the kitchen this year.
I just mentioned the 3D Systems color ProJet 4500 3D printer. The company has also announced another 3D printer today called the ProJet 5500X. This 3D printer doesn't print in color, but it does print using multiple composite materials.
If there was any doubt that Motorola would continue to push forward with their modular smartphone project through the future, it's been given another kick in the pants today. Motorola Mobility LLC, A Google Company, has today announced their new partnership with the 3D printing group 3D Systems for the modular smartphone system called Project Ara. This partnership will allow Motorola to get one step closer to what they describe as "production-level speeds and volumes."
