Motorola XFON skirts Nexus 5 rumors, pushes for cross-carrier US release

This week the fabled Motorola hero device called “X Phone” before this week has resurged in the tip lines at the Motorola XFON, complete with Qualcomm hardware compatibility with 4G LTE across all major carriers in the USA. This device has appeared several times in the recent past in both front and back hands-on photos with what appears to be a soft plastic back, a relatively large back-facing camera, and a palm-sized body. It’s been tipped most recently that this XFON device will be ready for both AT&T and Verizon this July.

Windows Phone 8 to support 1080p and quad-core chips by 2014

Windows Phone 8 is a pretty slick operating system, but it only supports up to 720p resolutions, as well as lower-quality WVGA and WXGA resolutions. Neo N003 is the world’s cheapest 1080p smartphone at $145

The Neo N003 smartphone first popped up last month, and has now officially been unveiled, earning the title of world's cheapest 1080p smartphone. While the price is budget-friendly, the specs are decidedly mid-range, but still much higher than what we'd expect from such a low-cost device. This week the Dell XPS 13 has been re-introduced with a Full HD iteration, this version prompting the manufacturer to suggest that it's not just the MacBook Pro they're gunning for, it's the MacBook Air. This device has already been revealed and released in a 720p edition - we reviewed it right here on SlashGear, in fact - and here in 2013 the Dell team is showing off not just the Full HD version, but an XPS 13 Developer Edition as well, this time with the same display as the original (now called "standard display") but here based on Project Sputnik. Smartphone firm OPPO has outed its latest handset, the OPPO Find 5, and it’s shaping up to be a doozy: 5-inch 1080p display like the DROID DNA, 13-megapixel camera, and a slick stainless steel casing. The Find 5 runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz quadcore APQ8064 processor, with a healthy 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage; it doesn’t get LTE, but it does support up to 42Mbps HSPA+ with its quadband 3G modem.
