Tago arc bracelet uses e-ink for endless designs

You buy a piece of jewelry because you like its design. Imagine, though, buying a piece of jewelry because you like its general shape, not bothering about the design itself because you can switch it whenever you'd like to something else. Such is the nature of tago arc, a new smart bracelet that doesn't trifle with matters of health and fitness. Instead, tago arc is all about style, something it caters to no matter one's personal style via the use of an e-ink display. With this display and a related smartphone, users can flash a new design onto the bracelet, changing its look digitally in about one second.

Tago arc is a simple wide band bracelet that features a flat surface. Upon first look, that surface seems to feature a printed design, but if you've a careful eye you'll note that it is actually a digital display — in this case, an e-ink display. In the same way you can change the font in a document, you can change the design on the bracelet.

The design changes are made using the tago app, which shows the different design options. Pairing with the bracelet is achieved using NFC, which means one needs to touch the phone to the bracelet briefly to make the change. It appears the designs will cost "a few dollars" to use, but users will also be able to upload their own designs.

The bracelet itself will be offered with three different trim finishes: silver, gold, and matte black. You'll need to pledge $199 on Indiegogo to get the "real early bird" version, which will begin shipping to backers this upcoming December. A matching pair can be had for $379 USD.
