Rumour abounds that T-Mobile US will be launching their own version of BlackBerry’s Curve smartphone, the 8320, identical to the 8300 that AT&T will be carrying except for the pleasant addition of WiFi.  It’s a reasonable prediction, given T-Mobile’s numerous WiFi hotspots.

Of course, the sickening thing about rumours is that we don’t have any details of release date, price or any of the other lovely factlets we all want to hear.  AT&T are meant to have their 8300 on the market in the next few weeks, and T-Mobile will follow after that, supposedly, so there’s a little while to go.

I was at a T-Mobile dealer today looking at possibly purchasing the Pearl. The rep mentioned something about the ‘curve’ and said that internally the release date would be around August. She wasn’t exactly certain, but I felt it was worth noting and waiting for.

    Happy Memorial Day.

I’m bummed out BB left GPS out. I guess it’s either wifi or gps and not both. Darn.

I hope this doesn’t jack up the price of the T-Mobile Blackberry plans. We don’t have enough Wi-Fi spots to make including and extra $10/mo. worthwhile.

well i have had the pearl which was good and i now have the 8800 and i now want the curve but its out now only with at&t. i know for a fact that the cost will be close tot he 8800 which was like 500 and i think thats some bullcrap! i do know that the phone is going to be lovely because it has everything that the 8800 has and vid/cam which i want. i’m trying to buy it unlocked now as i type lol

I also went into a T-Mobile store a few weeks ago and asked about the curve. As usual, “they can not provide a release date”, but I was able to get him down to Aug/Sept. He said specifcally fall and confirmed the t-mobile addition is wifi and at&t’s version does not have it. Finally one step closer to a camera and media on a BB, I thought this day would never come *sniff*

I am currently working for t-mobile and there is a rumor circulating around on the curve 8320 (wifi included). There is confirmation we WILL be carrying this phone, but there is absolutely no confirmation on the specific release date. At this point, definitely not August, and if that changes, possibly within the last week. From what we are hearing around the bush is that more toward the end of September.

I work in customer care with tmobile. we are some of the first to hear about new launches, except for the higher ups of course. but the point is, is that there is a rumor of the curve coming. it will for sure have wifi but from what my manager has said, it may be one of the new hotspot@home devices. there are also the BlackBerry Pearl in gold, red and blue known as the “Pearl Colors” that are launching very shortly.

So any of you guys that work for tmobile, do yuo have any on a price? Even just an estimate. Obivously without any contract it would be hear the 400 or 500’s but what about current customer upgrades?

    Hey everybody!

Just heard today from a T-Mobile Customer Service Rep that they will be releasing the Curve on Sept. 24th. She read me what was written in her internal email…Then they are going to have an exchange program launching Oct. 8th for customers who already have a blackberry and want to exchange it for the new one (if there’s something wrong with the one you currently have of course)

I also spoke to a customer servic rep who informed me the Curve (with wifi) would be available on September 24th. No pricing info was available at that time.

I talked with three different reps and they all stated 9/24 as the release date, but couldn’t give any information on the price point.

Wish it had a touch screen :( But its cool, I know t-mobile doesnt have the best connection ever and its almost at 56k which sucks.. thats the only thing stoping me from gettin it is the browser speed….

I picked up the T-Mobile Curve phone on 9/23 and its going back 9/24.

It constantly crashes. It will crash out of the blue, when I go to uses the Wi-Fi, when I try to use IM. It will tell me that i dont have files. I can fix this only by taking the battery out and resetting. The only problem is that it will happen again. I don’t know if its buggy or I just got a bad phone. It makes a palm treo 650 look stable, and that is a sad sad statement.

Sad part is that I sold my Pearl so I am stuck with having to get a new phone.

With the new Wi-Fi phones from T-Mobile. I have ran into several problems with dropped calls and messages not sending, which unfortunetly was only fixable by taking out the battery while the phone was on and putting it back in. However, when I spoke with a T-Mobile Rep. they said that many customers were complaining about the same issues, but after switching the information to a new SIM card there were no further problems. I Have done the same with switching out my card and have not had any further problems, so if you are looking into getting the Wi-Fi make sure you get your SIM card transfered to another one. NO MORE PROBLEMS :)
