T-Mobile may not be getting the iPhone 5 this year

Despite reports earlier this month that T-Mobile's parent company Deutche Telekom AG, had already begun taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5, the US division likely won't see the next-gen iPhone until next year. A leaked T-Mobile memo revealed that Chief Marketing Officer Cole Brodman confirmed during an internal conference that the carrier would not get the iPhone 5 this year.

To be exact, Brodman was quoted as saying, "We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year." Now, that could mean that T-Mobile simply won't get the iPhone 5 until early next year, or perhaps they'll be getting the much rumored iPhone 4S this year instead.

Analysts recently suggested that Apple would be releasing both a next-gen iPhone 5 as well as a lower-cost pre-paid version of the current iPhone 4, calling it the iPhone 4S or "iPhone 4 Plus." More images reportedly of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S internals have also begun surfacing this week. Release time frame is still believed to be mid-October.
