One XL, which is what we have in US carried by AT&T, is actually a better phone than One X. Despite having dual instead of quad cores, it’s actually faster in most benchmarks and it has a far better battery life. It also comes with Qualcomm’s better RF, WiFi, and GPS chipsets. Not to mention LTE, which has typical download speeds of 30 Mbps and upload speeds of 25 Mbps, and these speeds are pretty consistent.

So, having a quad-core smartphone seems totally plausible on their network. In the New York area, I’ve found T-mobile’s data speed to be adequate, and with so many wifi-hotspots, it’s not much of an issue where I live. However, the extra processing speed will be a great boost for multi-tasking and for a more fluid UI experience.
