As a first time Android user, I am very pleased with this phone.

It’s sleek and simple to use.

I recently switched over from a first gen iPhone to this.

So for other users like me… don’t worry! Sure there are some
things that take a little getting used to, but it’s not a big deal.

I actually had issues with network connectivity. I returned the phone to T-Mobile for another new one.

We suspect it was either a defective model… or it was due to a confusion in our plans which were fixed and now all is fine.

The Camera on this phone is great! I wasn’t expecting much even though it has an 8mp camera but the quality is really good.

Getting used to camera controls can take a while.

Battery life is good if you don’t abuse your device.

Lastly, this phone is super fast and has virtually no lag.

The only lag I had was trying to upload 2 gigs of video while trying to answer a text. But that lasted for about a few seconds.

Overall: Great Phone! Expect Gingerbread upgrade soon!

Picked me up in about a second or 2, no lie. Just get the phone, the camera, the screen, the build, the battery…1000% you won’t be mad, and if you are just take it back

Have had mine for 5 days….so far its shut down a dozen times….had to take battery out to reboot.
Would not recommend this phone until they get the bugs out.

Until I hear back from LG PR directly telling me the display is IPS, I don’t believe it. @Clay just because everyone is saying it in their review doesn’t mean it’s correct. Just because Apple buys IPS panel from LG doesn’t it’s in this phone. Even LG’s own website doesn’t mention anything about using IPS. I’m going with what I can find in writing.

Every spec I posted was accurate and valid. As far as documentation, well as I said below, Kevin answered your inquiry before I could. This is just a simple case of someone not knowing what they are talking about before posting a review online. Sadly, it seems that is the trend with most online mobile reviews.

The G2X absolutely has an IPS display. And for that matter, who do you think Apple gets their IPS display’s from? Hmmmmmm…….LG maybe? It is common knowledge that the G2X has an IPS display. Every other review online mentions this except you.

We’ll know soon enough. My dual-core Qualcomm MDP device should arrive any day now. I’ll be able to fully/thoroughly benchmark the two processors. We’ll simply have to wait and see…the results.

It doesn’t matter to me what you’re trying to do, but if you’re going to post “specs” you ought to check your facts. iPhone is the only mobile device on the market with an IPS panel.

According to the 9th post on that thread they made a mistake, hopefully its not true because quite a bit of people are probably buying this phone and expecting it to be compatible with the AT&T network. I’m from Canada and i’m going to florida in a week, i was hoping to to pick this phone up as Canada’s generally really bad for getting new phones. There’s also a decently lengthy thread here …http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041402&page=1 about the issue too. That’s a pretty fat mistake if T-mobile screwed up considering every review i’ve read talks about its quad-band capabilities.

@Jeff, you may be right. I am only going off of everything I can find on the internet. Everything I can locate says it includes the AT&T bands. I highly doubt they aren’t there, it will probably just be a matter of time before someone figures out how to get it going on AT&T.

I just wanted to clarify that I am not trying to de-legitimize your review. It is very thorough, and for the most part, very well done. I just get frustrated with people who see 1.2ghz dual core, and 4.3″ screen vs. 1.0ghz dual core and 4.0″ screen, and automatically assume that means better. And in the end, it is all about personal preference anyway!

Might want to mention that people are unlocking this phone and trying to use it with AT&T networks and not getting 3g service. It seems that the 850 MHZ isn’t enabled or not even on the phone. It’s not working on the robellus networks in canada either (obviously).

You wanted documentation? Here ya go! http://www.nvidia.com/object/tegra-2.html specifically says 8 GPU cores.

Also, to address the 1Ghz Tegra2 vs 1.2Ghz Snapdragon, the Snapdragon is based on ARM A8 cores, while the Tegra2 is Arm A9 cores, so technically speaking they need the speed bump on the Snapdragon to offer the same sort of performance as what the Tegra2 offers.

To the person below me that says the G2X has a TFT display…. no kidding? That’s what all LCD displays are these days. Clay was talking about it having an IPS display vs a TN panel or any other type. They’re all forms of TFT displays. The G2X does absolutely have an IPS panel, which offers better color reproduction and better viewing angles. Christ, do some research people.

1. Phone seems slightly overlong to make room for the STEREO speakers on the bottom of the device. Sensation fails here.
2. G2X=Vanilla Android. Another fail for the Sensation.
3. G2X includes AT&T bands, which future-proofs the phone for after merger. Not sure about Sensation.
4. G2X has a 8 CORE ULP GeForce GPU with enhanced 3D graphics. Another fail for the Sensations Adreno GPU.
5. G2X has an IPS display. (IPS displays are provided by LG for the iPhone 4)
6. Just because the Sensation is going to have a .3″ bigger display, and a faster processor by .2ghz, means jack crap. The G2X is already a better phone.
7. G2X out benchmarks the Atrix in EVERY category or test I have seen.
8. Most phone reviewers suck, and don’t know all the facts about a phone before they review it!

The sensation’s snapdragon processor is as cortex a8 processor so even though is overclocked to 1.2ghz its still not faster than the tegra 2. Also the screen on the g2x is an ups display which should look better than the super LCD on the sensation when it comes to color reproduction.
