If one stranger can you make "single handedly hate your phone" then it doesn't say much about your loyalty or individualism....

I say what ever I feel like saying that i think will most disturb the next person. I dont say things to "feel smart" or "feel better" than the next person.... What I do for a living and my socio-economic status fills that void.

So for you to say something as moronic as you have just make me think you are one of the poor uneducated fools just hating the successful people out there....... same reason most apple haters hate apple.... They hate big success. Instead they feed on the loserness of their own existence.

Well then I take it that I am not really an average Android User then and neither are all my co-workers and friends. I don't even know where to begin...

1) My mommie didn't give me my Android phone, I made a choice to get it. (I don't even live at home and in fact live like 7 states away...not in her basement...she doesn't have a basement)
2) I would think a degree in Physics/Chemistry with a job in quality software development makes me somewhat smart, skilled and talented...I can in fact afford an iPhone and I considered getting one...chose not too.
3)Just bought a house so the whole Credit thing I think is a bust
4)Verizon offers iPhone
5) And you know I don't hate Apple...in fact I am writing this from a Macbook while listening to my iPod "Classic"...My wife has an iPod "Nano" and we just got my unborn son an iPod "Nano" to load up with all the nursery rhymes and what not for car rides and such...hating Apple...I doubt it.

This is honestly the first time I have ever responded in this whole dispute between Android and iPhone. Both have their pros and cons. You need to make the right choice for yourself. I chose Android and I am primarily an Apple user. I have a friends who uses an iPhone and that is the only piece of Apple hardware he owns. Maybe I am just a human who has free will to choose the technology that best works for me and just because I own one brand doesn't mean I have to blindly follow that company.

(Before anyone gets on me about punctuation...was never good at it...You could ask me what Schroedinger's Equation is and I can tell you off the top of my head....ask me what a semi-colon is used for and I am at a loss)

Fragmented as in an app may or may not work on different phones running the same Android version.
Integrated vs fragmented? Are you insane? Fragmentation is a myth!

Put it another way. Developer begins development on app, android code base is at 2.1 "Eclair" submits app to market. Releases code and bug fixes as the need arises. Android code base updates to 2.2 "froyo", dev makes modifications to code to fix/update to new code base. Now I go to the market with a 2.1 phone, market recognizes my phone as 2.1 and shows the vesion designed for my device. No fuss, no muss. Now my phone gets updated to 2.2 and the code is already available so the app gets updated. Hence no fragmentation. Unless you are talking about system apps, like youtube, which were delinked from the android system sin 2.3 "gingerbread" Which basically means system apps will update independent of the android code base from now on. So if apple used this system Siri would be pushed to every Idevice with a compatible code base (the "3g" all the way to the 4gs)

The rest of your diatribe is not worth commenting on except to say that iphone users can be grouped into fewer, less flattering categories.

Sadly while you may have money, your Ilogic sucks.
1) The "Nexus" is not a phone, but a category of phones, specifically the google flagship phone of any given generation. The nexus 1 was FAR superior to the iphone 3g in terms of build quality, specifications and general capabilities. The Nexus S had features the iphone 4gs still doesn't (NFC, super amoled+, FM radio, flash etc) The Galaxy Nexus has features you will have to wait several years (if ever) to recieve on an Idevice.

2) While I congratulate Apple on a strong showing of 4 million units sold at launch, you have to put some perspective to that number. Apple sales were down 3 million units against the same timeframe of the previous year, so in reality they sold an additional 1 million units.

3) If you look at android numbers in that perspective sales were up, WAY up. Activations have been around 550,000 per day for quite some time. So that 4 million over several days equates to a little less than 4 days of android activations. At 550,00 activations per day that is approximately 6 PER SECOND, EVERY SECOND! Comparing an apple launch to just another day for android is a flaw in your logic because THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL that Apple can keep up the sales pace. It is physically impossible, they cannot even fulfill the launch day requirements. Furthermore the reality is Apple will activate a ton for a few weeks, a bunch for a few months and then sales will slump to a few. It's market dynamics.

4) Being rich, doesn't make a person smart in the same way that being tall doesn't make a person happy, It is about how you make the most of what you are given.

5) You might look around and notice that poor people far outnumber rich ones, so a product marketed to affluent people is probably like setting up a cake stand in marie antoinette's royal court. You can do it, but sooner or later you will recieve a wicked haircut.

6) For me, I judge superiority on the merits of that which is judged. You may be different and judge it it a completely different manner. But I see that a phone with 1280x720 resolution, a faster processor, better screen tech, larger screen, and open operating system, not built by slave labor in a building with suicide netting to be vastly better. Not built by a company that actually alleges that their customers are stupid in court (Trade dress actions)

7) since I brought it up apple actually has the nerve to say that their customers are so stupid that it would be possible for them to go to a store, find a box marked "samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" believe that it was actually an ipad, buy it and be "confused" why they hadn't gotten a legitimate apple product! Look up trade dress, tell me they don't think you are stupid.

Sadly while you may have money, your Ilogic sucks.
1) The “Nexus” is not a phone, but a category of phones, specifically the google flagship phone of any given generation. The nexus 1 was FAR superior to the iphone 3g in terms of build quality, specifications and general capabilities. The Nexus S had features the iphone 4gs still doesn’t (NFC, super amoled+, FM radio, flash etc) The Galaxy Nexus has features you will have to wait several years (if ever) to recieve on an Idevice.

It’s market dynamics.

4) Being rich, doesn’t make a person smart in the same way that being tall doesn’t make a person happy, It is about how you make the most of what you are given.

5) You might look around and notice that poor people far outnumber rich ones, so a product marketed to affluent people is probably like setting up a cake stand in marie antoinette’s royal court. You can do it, but sooner or later you will recieve a wicked haircut.

6) For me, I judge superiority on the merits of that which is judged. You may be different and judge it it a completely different manner. But I see that a phone with 1280×720 resolution, a faster processor, better screen tech, larger screen, and open operating system, not built by slave labor in a building with suicide netting to be vastly better. Not built by a company that actually alleges that their customers are stupid in court (Trade dress actions)

7) since I brought it up apple actually has the nerve to say that their customers are so stupid that it would be possible for them to go to a store, find a box marked “samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ believe that it was actually an ipad, buy it and be “confused” why they hadn’t gotten a legitimate apple product!
If you could find a wifi spot in the woods of julian I would agree, but my front porch is 6 miles from the nearest anything.

The reason tmo is so fast is because the rollout to "4g" was years ago, and the carrier does not sell the iphone. As a smaller carrier they have the same backbone to the prim, but less demand which means they can offer greater speed with less customers using less data.

Steve Jobs had a great dream / idea and he knows how to make it real.
There is a whole lot of people who want to iDream the same dream as Steve Jobs.
That does not mean every one in the world would want to dream the same idream as Steve Jobs.
It is the people who want real choice, and flexibility and customizability and finally the freedom to say no that drives Android.
I like my Windows laptop too because, it allows me to do what every I want to do with it.

However much I might admire Steve Jobs as a person, I would rather have a thousand Steve Jobs and make my choice rather than be reduced to a fanboy

I've been playin' on both sides of the fence for quite a while now. I used to carry the compaq pocket pcs and the hp iterations also. I went with an Iphone 3G about 2 1/2 yrs ago to see what the fuss was all about. Okay, for most folks, the IPhone system works just fine, as they DON'T want to have to fool with it at ALL. Frankly, I got bored, took a look at my options, and went for the Galaxy 2S the other day. On the other side of the fence are the android folks, some geekier than others, and some hyperventilate when folks choose to bite the apple. Android is growing, as people around the world simply ain't gonna get on the apple bandwagon, for whatever reason. Ya'll need to pay attention to this salient fact, please.....some folks have other things to do than mess with an android system all day, you know, like make a living, raise children, pursue a relationship, get laid, etc....and an IPhone suits them to a T, so get over it all ready......it's all about how people choose to live their lives. When I was down at AT&T picking up my Galaxy, an older gent was getting a 4S, and he was tickled pink. I suggested he get an otterbox, bcz if he dropped it, it was history, and he'd be out a lot of money...he bought an otterbox....now think about that for a minute....70 plus year old man stepping up to a 4S. Plainly, he doesn't belong on the android range, does he? The only way Apple is gonna go away is if they make boneheaded business decisions, and we'll just have to see. BTW, Microsoft ain't dead, and there's gonna be a lot coming from their direction shortly, if I understand what I'm reading. I'm a socialized geek, btw, who has learned the hard way not to disrespect others opinions, and, perhaps, some of ya'll could learn the same.

You brag about AT&T when you are probably one of the few exceptions that's actually had a decent experience? The only reason people even sign with AT&T is for the iPhone. Other than that their overall service is shit. Why do you think AT&T tried to buy TMobile? Because their coverage and customer service is SHIT.

You called Steve Jobs the greatest innovator and visionary? He's great but he's NOT that great. He's iDead and probably in iHell.

Sprint betting the entire company on the iPhone just goes to show the influence the one little device has on the planet.

If it were not for the iPhone, Verizon would be the LARGEST carrier by at least a third bigger than the runner up; ATT.

Apple went to VZW before they went to ATT but verizon did not want to give up that much control. Verizon LOVES to preload ALL phones with so much crap it practically DESTROYS the pure intended experience onthe device.

Apple would not have it. Apple told VZW to take a hike. THATS WHY I LOVE APPLE. They dont put up with the typical corporate BULLSH*T that consumers are subjected to so these corp giants can squeeze more money from us.

Then when VZW realized their HUGE mistake, they went to Apple BEGGING for the iPhone BUT Apple decided to teach them a lesson and allowed VZW to bleed customers to ATT for 4 years.

And for you android geeks who will undoubtedly talk sh*t about Apple because i posted this... and for you people who dont believe me, just take a look at what happeend in Febuary... HINT: Apple got its way! :-)

Ummm, NO!

The entity responsible for updating phones in the entity which developed the operating system on the phones. (or devices)

The only reason that most android phones do not get updtaes is because the telcos and manufacturers add layers, skins and other gui's and software to the phones in their effort to differentiate, generate income by homebrewed products or services, and "control" what the devices can and cannot do. For example, most smartphones have tethering capabilities BUT the telcos BLOCK the feature so they can add software that will detect tethering so they can charge you more for it. Another example is ringtones; for a while ringtones were purchased thru the telcos and while the ringtones were a simple file, the telcos blocked you from being able to access that file and copy/export that files for future use in another device. The purpose? So you have to re-purchase the ringtones.

Now the "magic" bullet (pun intended), Apple EXPLICITLY PROHIBITS the telcos OR ANYTHING else for that matter, from adding or removing software on Apple devices without Apple permission and that doesnt happen often. Example, when you buy a MS Windows based computer, it comes preloaded with TONS of crap and shi*t pestering the user with free trials and subscription based products or services. Apple's Macs come with only Apple software; clean, solid, and how it should be.!!!!!

Now the “magic” bullet (pun intended), Apple EXPLICITLY PROHIBITS the telcos OR ANYTHING else for that matter, from adding or removing software on Apple devices without Apple permission and that doesnt happen often. Example, when you buy a MS Windows based computer, it comes preloaded with TONS of crap and shi*t pestering the user with free trials and subscription based products or services. Apple’s Macs come with only Apple software; clean, solid, and how it should be.!!!!!

OMG so sorry to break it to you but you could not be more wrong.

I am not sure why you would even say that when the article you are commenting on clearly stated that TMo reported how Apple ignored TMo's request to build an iPhone which could work on the TMo network.

Anyway, regardless of the article, I'd think common sense dictates how ALL carriers worldwide would do whatever necessary to bring the iPhone onboard.

Just remember there is NOT ONT phone in the world that sells even half as many units as the iPhone. There is not now, there never was, and there will not be for anytime in the forseeable future. Have you not seen the lines around the globe for Apple iPhones, and iPads?

There is no other product in the world that generates so much buzz, media coverage, and the big one; SALES, as the iPhone.

Those kinds of sppeds are unheard of in the US for mobile. I have a gut feeling that when you are getting those speeds you are on WiFI.

Summery of everything below this post:

Apple fanbois claiming android sucks, iphone sells best.
Android fanbois pointing out that android has DOUBLE the market share.
Bickering Bickering Bickering.
Insert sh1t we have all heard before.

At the end of the day, It's obvious that both phones have their advantages and disadvantages, I prefer Android. I believe it's evolving much faster than apple. And I believe the hardware is superior.

iPhones don't "suck", they are the right fit for the right people. Unfortunately those people are not me...or the other 78% of smartphone users in the US.

You've just single handedly made me hate my iPhone. Just knowing someone as idiotic as yourself is sharing the same planet let alone the same phone as me is giving me a hard time believing what I'm seeing. Do you really feel this level of self righteous-nous all from a phone? You really think because you yourself have an iPhone you're more likely to be smarter than anyone owning an Android phone? The fact that someone supposedly more "intelligent" would ever spew something so moronic and asinine makes me wonder are you even fully developed mentally. I won't even stereotype you because that would just evoke your charades. An intelligent man or woman wouldn't send out childish bait hoping someone would bite. They would conduct themselves appropriately by simply stating their disagreement with a situation, follow with backing statements, and hopefully persuade readers to their side maybe even the one in disagreement. What you just did was undermined every study possibly ever done all at once. Education and intelligence are completely different and while you may be educated your intelligence is what's in question. Please for the sake of us iPhone users stop speaking on our behalf. Now as far as my own opinion, I believe the Nexus is a wonderful device. Going spec to spec, it equals and in some places surpasses the iPhone 4S but right now we are speaking about an unreleased device handled by a select group of individuals whom only they can weigh in on it. You embody the term "sheep" to it's fullest and I hope one day you see that.
Oh and by the way the word is STUPID other misspelled words include STUPIDITY and PEOPLE try a space between (be found) and another between (could meet).
I wonder are you even typing this on an iPhone because simple spelling errors and such would be corrected on the iPhone. You would have to force it to be ignorant such as what is being presented.

But even if that wont do, why dont you just call me when Samsung has sold 4 million Nexus phones.
