T-Mobile ending "greedy, predatory" overage charges altogether

This week T-Mobile USA has made clear that they'll be trashing all overage charges for smartphones, tablets, and any other device on their network. This move was started with their Simple Choice plan last year, and will now be spread to all devices on all plans.

Speaking again as a direct competitor to AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint, T-Mobile CEO and President John Legere suggested that he was "laying down a challenge" for the other three largest USA-based carriers. "Because it's the right thing to do", said Legere, T-Mobile is "ending these outrageous overage penalties for all consumers."

With T-Mobile starting in May for bills arriving in June, all overage costs will be "abolished" for good. This works with Simple Choice, Simple Starter, or any older plan with the carrier.

Of course you'll still be charged for the data and voice and texts you use, it'll just be at the same rate as you're paying normally. At the moment we're waiting on exact details on how T-Mobile will handle said charges.

Meanwhile John Legere has started a petition with change.org titled "#AbolishOverages @ATT, @VerizonWireless and @Sprint!" This petition suggests the following: "We've had enough. Abolish overages now."
