T-Mobile data outages reported in several major markets [Update]

If your T-Mobile phone has gone silent, it's not you. You're not suddenly unpopular with the Uncarrier. It seems the carrier is seeing an outage that spans several major metropolitan areas, including their backyard of Seattle. T-Mobile has yet to address the issue.

Several tipsters noted their issues to us, which seems to relate to data connectivity more than phone or text service. The issue was reported to Down Detector, as well, who tweeted the issue. For now, T-Mobile isn't addressing the outage. We've reached out to the carrier for comment via several different avenues, and will update this article should we hear back.

This comes just after T-Mobile announced they'd be rolling out VoLTE in several major markets, including at least one where the outage is occurring. It could have something to do with a system upgrade for VoLTE, or just be an anomaly. These things happen, after all.

T-Mobile is also out in the Los Angeles area, where they'll hold their Uncarrier 5.0 event. Their tagline for the event suggests things won't be "safe and sound". Please feel free to make your jokes about T-Mobile's service not being so sound this morning in the comments section below.

Update: T-Mobile got back to us, and noted it was an issue with post-paid accounts. All is well, now! Here is the official statement:The T-Mobile network team was able to quickly resolve cal processing issues affecting some customers briefly this morning. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.
