T-Mobile announces Lifetime Coverage Guarantee

It's no secret that only a few years ago T-Mobile had a tiny LTE footprint around the US. In some parts of the country, it's LTE coverage is still scant. T-Mobile has been working to beef up its LTE coverage and claims to reach "nearly" every American today. T-Mo says that it has more than doubled the square miles it covers with LTE in just over a year.

To help improve that LTE coverage, T-Mo has been rolling out lots of new spectrum to carry LTE signals twice as far from its towers than the signal previously traveled. The new spectrum also makes coverage inside buildings four times better than it used to be thanks to T-Mobile Extended Range LTE using Band 12 or 700 MHz spectrum.

To highlight just how much coverage the company has, T-Mobile has announced a new Lifetime Coverage Guarantee. With that guarantee, as long as a customer uses a new iPhone 6s or 6s Plus on the T-Mobile network, if they aren't satisfied with their coverage T-Mo will give a full refund on the new device or unlock it. The catch is that the refund is only offered in the first month.

After that first month passes, the remedy for unhappy customers is that the device will be unlocked to be used with other carriers at no charge. T-Mo will also refund the cost of the first month of service for customers. T-Mo has also announced that starting Saturday, pre-orders for the iPhone 6S will kick off with the new device costing $20 per month for 18 months with JUMP! On Demand, the 6S plus will be offered for $24 per month. After the 18 months, the phone can be turned in for a new device or purchased for $164 more.
