The silver price point (the golden being “free”) is “cheap” – you can’t argue with cheap.  So it’s good to see the cost of Core 2 Duo notebooks dropping beneath the magic $1000 price point, albeit only by a single penny.  Still, it’s not a bad deal all the same: Systemax give you a 1.66GHz processor, 1gb of RAM and an 80gb SATA hard-drive, plus DVD-RW drive and 1.3megapixel integrated webcam for those “you’ve got it so flaunt it” moments.
