Now building a computer into a desk is, when you think about it, a pretty daft idea. Not only are you saying that you don’t need the flexibility of a laptop, but you’re saying you’ll always be using your PC wherever your desk is. But there’s something about the Art Deco design of Gareth Battensby’s Sync concept that has swayed me.
Perhaps it’s the massive flip-up LCD that’s pulled me in, or the illuminated keyboard. Either way, Gareth has at least given some thought to practicalities (which is more than you can say for a lot of concepts), and made sure you can actually use Sync as a desk when the mood takes you.

Designed as a final year project for his degree, Sync is unlikely to see the commercial light of day. I’m curious, though; have any SlashGear readers made their own integrated-PC desk? Let me know in the comments.

You say building a PC into a desk is “daft” because you would be claiming you do not need the “flexibility” of a laptop. And yet every day people buy desktop PC’s because they do not need the portability of a laptop. Then you go on to slobber over a plastic “pimpdesk”. Are you trying to cover up your lack of knowledge with bad taste?
What I was trying to say is that, while a desktop PC is less portable than a laptop, it’s certainly more portable than a desk is - thus normally I’m not impressed when designers try to integrate a computer into furniture.
As for “bad taste”, where you see plastic I envisage glossy ebony and silver inlays; I’m a sucker for Art Deco. I guess that’s the problem with renders, to some extent you’re left up to your own devices figuring out what materials might be used. Yes, plastic would be horrible.
Is this a concept desk or do they really manufacturer this? At what price?
