With Feb 11th announcement that Nokia is now Microsoft’s bitch and won’t have a WP7 phone in the market for 4 to 6 months I’m sure we will see stunning growth in Android for Q1 & Q2 of 2011.

I hope Elop know what he’s doing but taking into account that ‘memo’ i’m not really that confident about his ability as a leader. Time will tell if he’s the top dog or just another cold turkey.

The biggest news is still q4 2010 where Android sold 33M smartphones. That’s half of the entire sales for the year. In other words, the rate at which Android is being adopted now is staggering, so Nokia does have something to worry about. At this rate q1 of 2011 Android could sell near 50M smartphones and by the end of 2011 would out pace all other smartphone operating systems easily.

I hope there is a method to Elop’s shroud waving. Perhaps he wants to shake up his staff whilst also appeasing the hostile US tech bloggeratti who continue to bay for Symbian’s blood. Symbian’s death is grossly exaggerated. 111,576.7 MILLION. Wow !.
