Super Talent UltraDrive SSDs get speed-boost Windows 7 firmware

Super Talent have boosted their write-speeds of their their UltraDrive SSD range by up to 25-percent, and they've done so without even touching the hardware.  The new firmware for the UltraDrive ME and UltraDrive LE SSDs means that Windows 7 users will  now see up to 260MB/sec read rates and up to 210MB/sec write rates.

It's the more expensive UltraDrive LE that sees the above performance stats, up from its original maximum read speed of 230MB/sec and original write speed of 170MB/sec.  As for the UltraDrive ME, that goes from 200MB/sec read to 260MB/sec and from 160MB/sec write to 200MB/sec.

The Super Talent UltraDrive ME and LE are available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities, plus there's a 256GB ME drive.  All are 2.5-inch SATA-II drives; the company now offers a "performance refresh tool" which can rescue an SSD from data fragmentation.
