Super Talent rolls out new line of rugged SSD

Super Talent introduces new line of 1.8 PATA SSDs uses zero insertion connector designed for rugged handle. The Full line consists of 10 models range from 4Gb, 8Gb, 16Gb, 32Gb to 64Gb manufactured for commercial (0C to 70C)and industrial -40C to 85C operating temperature. The San Jose based SSDs support 30MB/second sequential read and write speeds, 0.1ms access speeds, have exceptional resistance to shock and vibration with low power consumption less than one watt. They are available directly to OEM customer with an approximate price tag of $790 for 32Gb commercial version.

    “rugged SSD” is an oxymoron. SSD are suppose to be rugged and durable since there are zero moving parts — right?

    Inner SSD might be rugged, but outer SSD such as connector is not protected from rugged handling.
