Super Smash Bros. for Wii U adds Little Mac to roster

In its latest Nintendo Direct video, Nintendo has announced an addition to Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U: Little Mac, the green-clad dashing boxer from Punch-Out!!. This will be his debut in a Super Smash Bros. game, which will arrive in the eShop at an unspecified time this year.

You can see Little Mac in-game throwing punches and knocking out competition in the latest Nintendo Direct video below, which details some of the game maker's other recent news. In addition to the Super Smash Bros. addition, Mario Kart 8 is also up for a new game first.

In Wii U news, Mario Kart 8 will offer for the first time all seven Koopalings as playable characters, giving players "with a taste for being bad" the change to zip around the race tracks as Iggy, Larry, Lemmy, Ludwig, Morton, Roy, and Wendy. The game will be available in the Nintendo eShop on May 30.

Bayonetta 2, which is set to launch some time later this year, has shown off some new game features in its latest trailer. In the video is also featured new footage of game-play for a new title from Monolith Soft, Inc., which features a battle system based on the Wii's Xenoblade Chronicles title. There are no additional details on that, however, except for a promise of updates in the future.
