For those that enjoy the great outdoors while trying to work on their laptop, this solar table is just the way to save on that energy bill. Now anyone can take one look at my pasty white skin and know that it is highly unlikely that I’ll be toting my laptop out into the dreaded sunlight. However, I can appreciate the gesture of creating a table to make the world a greener place.

Other than my issue of going out into the sunlight, I also think they could have made a better attempt at making it a bit more aesthetically appealing. The table takes 3 hours to bring the NiMH battery to a full charge, using a built-in 150-watt power inverter.

Sadly the table’s issues don’t end there, to snag yourself one it will cost you $3600. All around I’d say you’d be better off with one of the more portable designs that you can just sit in the window. That way if you really don’t feel like going outside you can still run your laptop or other gadgets from solar energy.
