If e had known that the ads were really interfering with the use of the kindle I would have taken the cheaper Kobo. The lettering on Amazons “certified frustration free” packaging was so small that I did not notice it in the shop.Definetly first but last Kindle!

If you’re saying you couldn’t endure bothersome ads then you haven’t used the ad supported Kindle. Ads are only visible on the main menu (small banner at bottom of screen) or as a screen saver when the Kindle isn’t being used. It never interferes with reading or finding new books.

you think they could have charged more. are you asleep?? in just about 5 weeks there are a new batch of kindles for less without ads – they should remove the ads for FREE

What a bunch of spoiled brat acting people. The ads show on the front cover screen only and never interferes with reading in any way I have to wonder what the rest of your lives are like if you find these little ads bothersome. ZM thanks for being a real normal human being as I was beginning to doubt if there were any of us left. LOL.

Wow this article is whiny. The ads are unobtrusive and easily ignored, there is nothing to “endure.” If you don’t want to see the ads at all, don’t buy the ad-supported Kindles, it’s as simple as that.

I couldn’t stomach the ads either. And who wants to run their battery down faster by constantly downloading data?
