Study finds online Doctors are more effective

Turns out that seeing the your doc less might be better for you, that is according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study was conducted studying 778 patients with high blood pressure.

They were split into three different groups, the first carried on as usual seeing their doctors and getting the usual tests done. The second received home monitoring kits and were trained through websites on how to keep their blood pressure down. Lastly the third group received home monitoring kits and training, but on top of it were able to email their test results to pharmacists.

The pharmacists would then adjust the prescriptions based on the test results. The third group did the best, managing to get their blood pressure under control. Only 1/3 of the first two groups managed to do the same. Hopefully these results will get doctors to utilize technology a bit more.
