Stryd wearable power meter for runners helps you run faster

There are all sorts of wearables today that are designed to help people track their activity. Smartwatches and bracelets that are available track how far you walk or run and show how many calories you burn. A new wearable has launched called the Stryd wearable power meter. The device is designed to give runners details that can help them run better.

The Stryd device measures the power of a runner and the people behind the device say that power is the only consistent measure of workout intensity. The Stryd device was created by engineers from Princeton and claims to be the first wearable device that can accurately measure runner power.

The wearable works with sport watches and mobile phones to show the power output of the runner across any terrain. Runners can get information on improving efficiency, measure workout intensity, and simplify their training.

Syncing to sports watches that use Bluetooth smart and ANT+, iOS and Android smartphones, and computers is done wirelessly from the Stryd wearable. The Stryd Wearable is on Kickstarter right now seeking $50,000 and has raised over $100,000 so far with 39 days to go. A pledge of $149 or more will get you a wearable with shipping in September.
