Street Lamp Pole thumbFinally, someone uses something that we have plenty of, because lets face it we are all full of shit. In a town in India they have started using the methane gas produced by the human waste to operate a generator.

The waste from an area housing complex collects in a sump, where the methane gas is then used to operate a generator. The biogas produces 3,000 watts of electricity daily, enough to keep the town going all through the night.
