Either Intel are slimming down their processors to paper-thin levels, or someone has got a bit cheeky: having stretched the credit card at Amazon.com for one of Intel’s latest Quadcore 6600 CPUs, imagine the buyer’s surprise when he opened the packaging to find that the chip itself had been taken and replaced with a photocopy!

Intel Quadcore replaced with paper copy!

 Paper CPU

Thankfully Amazon played fair and have shipped out another - hopefully real - processor with next-day shipping.  I imagine they’ll now be doing some serious warehouse shakedown to figure out if the retail box arrived in that state or whether it was a light-fingered employee keen to upgrade their computer.
