First, Apple sold 5-6 million Apple IIs, including all versions of it, during its entire production run from 1977 to 1993. “Tens of millions in the first YEAR of production?” Hardly, but nice try spreading propaganda.

Second, you state that Jobs gave Gates his first coding job. Are you implying that Gates worked for Jobs and Apple? Are you talking about Applesoft, the Microsoft BASIC program that Apple licensed from Microsoft because Steve Wozniak, the real genius behind Apple, was busy with other projects, thereby leaving no one intelligent enough to write a BASIC program?

Lastly, I get tired of you Apple-zealots who claim that Jobs is the reason for “computing as we know it.” I’m not going to discredit Jobs for his marketing prowess–by far his biggest contribution–but there are other influential movers-and-shakers throughout the history of the computing industry, such as Andy Grove and Bill Gates, who deserve far more credit than you wish to give them. Without their role in influencing IBM to use their companies’ products, computing would most assuredly not be where it is today.

And don’t go spouting off about Xerox. They where shutting it down, and Steve Jobs was the ONLY ONE interested in it. Which is why a lot of the Parc employees went to Apple.

Also worth pointing out that, while her rulings in this case seem overly pro-apple, she has ruled against them in the past in an anti-trust anti-poaching lawsuit.

Which means, boys and girls, there wouldn’t have been computing as we know it, clearly, wtihout Steve Jobs. The only reason IBM was forced to create a PC was because the IBM shareholders when positively ballistic after Apple made tens of millions in the first YEAR of production.
