ì just got an iPad 2-32GB for $ 23.87 and my girlfriend loves her Panasonìc Lumìx GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 tobuy. actually, Jobs have been a figure-head for apple for well over a year since Cook have been running the show anyways. Jobs departure is more symbolic for apple than anything structural in terms of the operation of the company. I doubt Jobs stepping down will make any difference to apple other than losing their “spiritual” leader.

Personally, i think Jobs just wants to step down while apple is still on top. I think he sees the writing on the wall for apple. The iphone is being crushed by android in just one year and windows 8 is just looming on the horizon. The ipod sales continues to crumble every quarter because of the popularity of free music service on android and now android took 25% of market share from the ipad (according to HLN’s Clark Howard). The big three gadgets that apple has continues to lose marketshare and it’s just a matter of time before shareholders call for his head.

Steve is the chairman and still the boss of Apple as he is the major stakeholder. No one contested that fact… And you my dear have made statements which contradict your own statements. If Tim Cook is already doing everything Jobs is supposed to do for the last 2 years as per your argument.. what is Jobs doing other than giving presentations?? If he is doing full time job as a CEO, then isn’t his leaving as a CEO make any difference whatsoever?? Afterall he is the public face of Apple for long.

Whether he controls apple is not the question.. CEO is the public face of the company. If that changes, there will surely be change. Does it change how Apple or it’s employees behave? I don’t think so either. They will surely be as closed as before out of habit. But the change is there in the air.. New blood and new companies will overcome today’s gaints for sure tommorow. if not today.

FYI, I know more abt business that u’r shortsightedness can see. I won’t be commenting on your wisdom as it would be useless.. Go ahead and live your delusional life :D

He resigned the CEO position which Tim Cook been doing anyway in an unofficial role for the last 2 years. Did you think that being CEO meant you just had to do a few keynote events then fly back to the Hamptons? It’s a full time job orchestrating the company 95% of which is unexciting but necessary business.

Steve’s still controls Apple. There is no winds of change & the only thing “blowing hard” is your pompous ignorance.

FYI by definition everyone at apple is his inferior by his position as superior.

Im an advocate of both warm and fuzzy + kinder and gentler but I dont know if you can drive your personal vision to the number one position with that mindset.

I can only respect the fact that this man is a living, breathing being. He is no better or no worse than anyone else. I feel bad for his loved ones to see him go through something that makes him unable to work, but I am happy for those who he yelled at and treated as his inferiors now that they will not have to live in fear of tirades from him.

He’s accomplished a lot–good and bad.

Now, let’s move on and worry about how we are going to keep his successors from blocking the world from competitor devices.
