Peak Products have finally released their Starpex Guitar Hero and Rock Band controller, made from high-gloss lacquered wood and including both wired and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. The first model to hit shelves is the Obsidian, which as the name might suggest is black; that will be followed on October 31st by Dead Rose and Black Sunburst versions.

Compatible with both the PS2 and PS3, the Starpex controllers have a Speed Starpower/Overdrive button together with a tilt-sensor that can automatically trigger the mode. Solos in Rock Band are supported with buttons high on the neck, and the whole thing is designed to be modular so new features - whether electronic or guitar body - can be added and swapped later on.
The Starpex is available now at Circuit City, J&R, MicroCenter and from Peak Products themselves with an MSRP of 179.99.

What, no Xbox 360 version? How is this company going to leave out the biggest userbase for these music games? Rock Band 2 just came out for the 360 and the PS3 version is not due for another month, not to mention the PS2 version in 2 months. They just lost a lot of sales from people like me looking into a getting a 2nd, premium quality guitar for their Xbox 360 setup. Make it happen “Peak”!
