I'll have to take your word for it. I never played either enough to form an opinion. I loved Knights of the Old Republic though; perhaps Bioware should stick to the single player RPGs.

I really wanted this game to be good, being a massive Star Wars fan but I'm afraid its just not a patch on what SWG used to be or offer in terms of content and playability. Bring back SWG!

Death spiral user decline sounds likely. This game can't even begin to measure up against the experience that Star Wars Galaxies provided at launch and subsequently before the combat update considering the year that it was released.

This game is an absolute waste of development cash and voice talent.

If the same amount (or even a fraction) of creativity that went into Galaxies was in this sorry game, I'd still be playing it.

Thumbs down.

I didn't make it to the top level, but I did buy the collector's edition and a 6 month subscription. I've logged in a total of 10 times.

I would have had more fun lighting those 230 individual dollar bills on fire.

F the old Republic and F Bioware. The support has been non-existent from day one. I used to love Bioware, but I'm never buying another Bioware product. Ever.

I cancelled and I am most definitely a core gamer. One person doesn't disprove anything, I realize, but I did not leave because I whimsically floated elsewhere. I left because of content--and I didn't want to.

All Lies from Bioware...the game has a steady decline of subscribers because they truely don't know what to do with this game that was still not ready for release. Problems now is to be sucessfull in this game you have to pretty much stay at the computer all day just to get 3 daily wins that will help you get pvp armor...so that leaves out people that have lives and live in the real world. Not to mention a ton of in game issues like profession differences which seem to favor the republic side...specially in pvp. This is the biggest game flaw is the uneven profession combat counter and offensive capabilities. Then the crafting part of it is totally blown the cost of crafting far outweighs keeping your credits. Then i would say the second worst thing of all is the length of time and the kind of help you get with customer service issues. I have gone back to some older games that i have played in the past and are free to play...and can spend a couple of hours playing and feel good about playing because you actually got something productive done in the game. Buying and subscribing to TOR was the worst money i have ever spent. I had more fun in Star Wars Galaxies and Counterstrike games than TOR can ever replace.

I did the preview of SWTOR when they had that free weekend a while back, and it looked like a pretty decent game. That said, it appears that it is not the WoW killer people were looking for it to be. WoW is kind of long in the tooth at this point, but it is still the biggest player in the game by far.

It seems pretty normal for MMOs to lose subscribers after the initial newness wears off. Most dwindle into almost nothing and eventually spell the death of the game. We'll have to wait and see if that happens with The Old Republic.
