Star Wars scene recreated with drones

This month four drone racers decided they'd recreate one of their favorite scenes from the Star Wars saga, entirely shot with drones. Here you'll find drone propellers carrying speeder bikes through the giant redwood forests of northern California. That's the same place the actual scenes from Star Wars: Return of The Jedi were filmed. How fancy! This whole thing was filmed and posted to the "YouTube of drone video" – AirVuz.

AirVuz is good – it looks good, it plays videos extremely well, and you can count on it being entirely packed full of drone-only video. The one drawback at the moment is our inability to embed video posted to AirVuz here to SlashGear. SO, we're posting from the AirVuz channel on YouTube.

You can find the rest of the videos posted by this same set of drone racers over at AirVuz in the IDRA Drone Racing channel. Lots of awesome bits and pieces.

We've also got a video from MIT graduate and aviation pro Adam Woolworth, who has taken an old 1:6 scale Hasbro Power of The Force series Speeder Bike and turned it into an entirely custom drone. Here the figure is gutted for super lightness, then fit to a FPV quad-copter drone. It's hardcore.

Woolworth also posted instructions for this drone on Make. Have a peek and make one yourself!
