Star Wars: Battlefront 'Bespin' expansion coming this June

Star Wars: Battlefront will be getting a new expansion called 'Bespin' this upcoming June. This will be the second digital expansion pack since the game's release, following the 'Outer Rim' DLC, and it'll include four new maps that'll be available for all of the "most popular" game modes. What awaits gamers in the expansion pack? Among other things, says game producer Craig McLeod, you'll get to "spend time in a carbonite chamber."

EA announced the new DLC today, saying Bespin will be available to Season Pass holders, and will take players to Cloud City (and places around it) with a total of four new maps. There will be new Star Cards and new blasters, and the addition of two new characters: Dengar, a bounty hunter, and Lando Calrissian.

Because heroes have proven so popular with gamers, EA says there will be eight total characters in the Season Pass, which will include the Niem Nunb and Greedo characters released with the Outer Rim expansion pack. Two characters will be released with the upcoming Death Star expansion, and then two additional characters will be coming with the fourth expansion pack, which hasn't been announced at this time.

Finally, EA has detailed some changes to the game that it'll be pushing out "in the next few months." Those changes include some new in-game events, including things like the recent double score weekend, as well as Special Login Events, community missions, and more. There will also be new Hutt Contracts for unlocking Star Cards, new content including some improvements to the offline content (EA didn't go into details), and some "cool activities" that'll take place on May the 4th.
