Are you looking for a creative new way to spy on your spouse/children/babysitter? Well, I’ve never been one to spy, but if I were, I’d probably love this clock. At a glance, it looks like nothing more than a regular digital clock. But of course, it’s hardly that.

SpyClock

The clock has a webcam built in that captures video at 640×480 at 15fps. Honestly, I think that 15fps is a little lacking, but it’s enough to figure out what’s going on. The cool thing is how it communicates with your pc. There’s no extra wires, or even a wireless signal to mess with. All you do is plug it into an electrical outlet. There is, however, a small box that you plug into an outlet near your PC, that in turn has a USB cable that hooks into the computer. You can even set up a website so that you can connect to the cam via the internet.

So if you do have a reason to do some spying on the babysitter, or just want to check on the kids while you’re at work, you’ll be able to do so with ease. The only setback is the price. $330 is a bit much for a webcam. With about $20 and a little ingenuity, you could make something that’ll do the job just as well.
