It very well could be the proximity and light sensors for the screen, and not a camera at all.

I have a pixi myself, and if you look at the top left corner very closely and hold it in the right light, you can see what is shown in the picture. I always thought it was a front facing camera, or at least a spot for one. So, this inst new on the pixi, but maybe now they’ll release one with that feature .
