Sprint losses continue to grow, says Q1 reports

Sprint is still experiencing losses according to their first quarter earnings report. In fact, their current losses clock in at $594 million, which is up $89 million from this time last year. That is actually an 18% further decrease in profits.

While the carrier continues to lose subscribers, they are now doing so at a much slower rate with 182,000 total customer loss from last quarter to this one. It's believed Sprint was bolstered in this area by their Boost Mobile $50 unlimited plan. However, they are still losing regular customers like crazy with 531,000 CDMA and 719,000 iDEN push-to-talk subscribers leaving the carrier.

Sprint's only saving grace may be the Palm Pre which is slated for release in June–at least that's what the rumor mill says at the moment. But we'll just have to wait and see if this new smartphone helps pull the carrier back up.
