I totally agree. Sprint customer service sucks, but they have the better plans. You pay for insurance, but they send out refurbished phones that suck.

Good prices, but the network is awful. With roam control (where you can force a switch on your phone), you can see that Verizon is better anywhere. Even AT&T was better.

Plus, Sprint customer service blows. In addition to my own bad experiences, I have read plenty of things online where people were actually yelled at by Sprint CS people.

I’m getting out to the V ASAP.Most importantly, with them committing so much cash to buying iPhones, I doubt that much is going to be left over to fix the shoddy network.

I’m roaming 9 hours a day at work. Granted I’m not using my voice very often at all and wifi is almost always on.

How long have you been doing this? Sprint generally doesn’t stand for “constant roaming” for more than 12 months.

Loved Sprint but their coverage out here on the outer rim was very weak. ATT’s coverage here is only slightly better. No carrier works consistently in my home. I’m surely waiting for the iPhone 5 but i’m also watching the carriers closely for 6 months to see what they try to get away with.

I have been with sprint for about a decade or so and thought about switching because I wanted an iPhone. I have found to issues with Sprint coverage where I use my phone, Except about four years ago when traveling to Wyoming north of Casper. I had to use roaming which worked fine.

I finally got rid of Sprint because I couldn’t get anywhere with customer service. I have had HORRIBLE coverage since May, 2011 and was roaming a lot of the time. I would constantly contact them and they wouldn’t do anything but give me the run around. I just FIRED SPRINT and went to Verizon. I have never been happier. I get a signal EVERYWHERE. Don’t go with Sprint whatever you do.

Its so funny how you guys are just talking out the side of your neck none of you really know what Sprint is about i work for sprint and we are really about to sky rocket past all competition now with the IPhone This was the only thing that ever held us back now with unlimited data on the phone that everyone loves. Everyone is bout to jump ship to sprint and as far as the data being capped that is only gonna be on mifi, overdrives, and mobile hotspot on phones the data it self on phone will continue to be unlimited

It’s not a surprise or bidding at all they tell u at the store and online all smartphone have a 10$ premium data charge my unlimited data family plan is still way cheaper than two phones on VZW or ATT by a major long shot.

Like to know were u see such bad service and connections. I live in Newark,Ohio 45min from Columbus and all my friends on vzw from Newark to Columbus ha e crappy reception were I have full service. Only time I roam is if I’m in a back country or in the foot hills of wv. My 3g speed test was abt 1.5mbs and higher sometimes.

The advantage with iPhone is that you do not have to rely on a telco for service or support. You just make a date with an Apple Genius at the Genius bar in an Apple Store.

It is that ability that has allowed me to tolerate AT&T (buy at the sign of the Death-Star) for so long. With the iPhone, the carrier is only the monthly payment, not support.

BEWARE the unlimited plan talk – I just got a letter from Spring that they “regret” to inform me that they will be discontinuing the unlimited plans. I signed 2yr contract with them back in January 2011 lured by the unlimited plan they’ve been advertising. It has not even been a year and they are pulling the plug. They might offer unlimited plans for iPhone initially but once they gather a big enough customer base they will pull the plug.

After a year and a half sitting idle and they release this? It’s pretty much the same as the iphone 4. You are all fired. It’s not just a phone, this is a battle between iphone users and the low life Android mofos. Look like the Android guys are getting the upper hand now. Thanks, Apple, for making us all look bad.

Maybe on your calls but everytime i call customer support I have the shortest wait times and smartest reps on the line. And they always work out a deal if I ever have a late payment. I <3 sprint.

When the Sprint network is spotty, just roam on Verizon’s network. Roaming is free. My phone spends the majority of its day roaming.

I’ve had vastly better service from Sprint than from AT&T. Going into the AT&T store is generally a nightmare of misinformation and lack of helpfulness. I have one good local rep – outstanding even, but the Sprint folks are all solid. This is even more true for the call center folks. Time to recalibrate your past assumptions. Today’s Sprint is great. Sprint’s network (as with all things – your local network is the most important thing – not national coverage or advertising) is OUTSTANDING. AT&T has poor coverage and even drops calls on I5. Seriously… Switched to AT&T for the iPhone – but miss my Sprint coverage and data speeds.

This is good news. Sprint also has good customer service too, almost as good as Verizon’s.

And with the money I can save, who knows… It’s like getting a couple free pizzas every month.
