Sprint charges for SMS with this integration, so not cool and less useful than just using your Google number. You were already supposed to be able to listen in on voicemail. The only way I know how to do it is by screening the caller and answering while they are leaving a message. The only advantage I've seen of this is that you can dial out from your Sprint number on a dumbphone. Otherwise if you have a smartphone, you already have the full feature set and free texts to boot.

I'm serious, I've read some other tech blogs and new sites, but I don't see any new major features except for those and it's similar to what you could do with Ooma for home phone as well with the exact same feature set for some years.

Call me cynical, but where is the fine print? How is the Sprint-integrated Google Voice different from the standard setup? For incoming calls that are answered on a phone other than the Sprint cell, does Sprint deduct minutes or otherwise charge for the service? What about for listening to voicemail in the traditional manner, i.e. with regular phone?

What about SMS sent from Android GV app? I read that these messages do not require an SMS plan. How is Sprint going to compensate for the loss in SMS plan revenue?
