The Spark Lamp, designed by Beverly Ng, is a really cool concept that turns your lamp into a self-sustaining device that can tell you just how much power you’re using. Using LED light, the lamp can be flipped over during the day to recharge itself using solar energy.

The lamp has WiFi as well so it can constantly keep tabs on your power usage. Then, once the lamp is turned on, it will flash different colors to indicate how much power you are actually using. And yes, this lamp does look like a plant, as it’s meant to be a nod to the process of photosynthesis by which plants get their energy.

The Spark Lamp is intended to enhance the way the Swedish government plans to help consumers monitor their energy use in future homes.
