Some things are so brilliant they make you want to jump on a plane and fly to Japan for them. This Space Invaders piggy-bank is one such example, gobbling up your spare 100 yen coins and letting you play a tiny version of the game itself on the table-top LCD.
The bank holds up to 80 coins and has realistic audio from the original Space Invaders game. A counter on the LCD shows how many you've put in, and the whole thing is 1/6th scale.
It'll retail for a frighteningly reasonable 5,775 yen ($59) when it's released in Japan later in March; no word, sadly, on a US release. Now to empty my existing piggy-bank to see if I've enough for a flight to Tokyo.
