Space hotel will sleep up to seven at £600,000 each

If you are rich enough you will soon be able take a trip into space and see what the real astronauts live like, only in style. I have always thought that the real astronauts on the ISS might take offense to having a tourist on board. In a few years a Russian firm called Orbital Technologies plans to have an orbiting space station open to visitors that have the money for such luxury.

The trip is massively expensive though with a two-day trek on a Russian Soyuz rocket to the space hotel costing £500,000 alone and then the five-day stay in the orbiting hotel costing another £100,000. The hotel is set to launch in 2016 and will be able to hold seven guests. The space hotel will allow the visitor to sleep in vertical or horizontal bunks.

It will also be fitted with cameras and binoculars to allow the vacationer to take photos and look at things close up. The tourists will apparently stay on the station along with an experienced crew to keep things running. Rather than drinking food out of tubes, the vacationers will eat gourmet meals cooked on earth, flown up on the space ship, and then warmed in the microwave. The tourists will even get showers with water rather than sponge baths like the ISS crew.
