I'm on my second Sound ID 510. Lost the first one, and having the iPhone app, trying to "find" my lost bluetooth doesn't work unless your bluetooth was actually on. My bad. I really enjoy the sound quanlity, and have no problem with the volume while driving in my car on the highway. Other bluetooth's I've owned just were never loud enough; the Sound Id 510 is great here. I'm a very satisfied customer, and paying about $30 for a refurbished model on ebay makes a fantastic bargain.

I have tried the Plantronics, Jawbone Icon, Jabra, and a couple of others for my IPHONE 4. I couldn't get the Jawbone to connect with my 4 but it worked fine with my 3GS. However, my negative about the Jawbone when I used it with my 3G was I couldn't get it to stay in my ear. The plantronics connected great and it stayed in OK but it hurt my ear. I got rid of the Plantronics though because the thing would disconnect me if I just put my phone in my jacket or put my shirt over the phone when it was in my case on my hip. All the other bluetooths just didn't work well at all. TheSound ID 510 is almost perfect. I can't even tell the thing is in my ear and I can jog with it in my ear. My sound going out and coming in is great and the software is really very functional for adding sound quality. I have only had it for 2 weeks so I can't vouch for durability yet but as it stands for now, if I ever have to buy another bluetooth, it will be this one. Only negative I could really think of is it is a little plain looking. Jawbone looked cooler to me but never worked for me like the Sound ID 510.

Oh, and BTW, apart from this glitch with EarPrint, I love the 510 to death! The sound quality is great, and so far the talk time is more than sufficient--provided I make sure to turn it off between uses. -Dw

Just wanted to comment that the EarPrint iPhone 4 app appears to be having a problem. I just got off the phone with SoundID's support line, and the work-around for now when the app hangs is: Power down the phone, power it back up, then go into the Bluetooth control panel (Settings --> General --> Bluetooth), wait for the headset to be connected. 20 seconds after receiving the Connected status, re-open EarPrint, and it then works okay...for a while. Not sure what makes it hang, but this clears it up, temporarily. Hope they come out with a point release of the app soon; it's a nuisance to have to keep doing this. -Dw
