I
bought mine on Ebay from ATGSM, got it in and freeked out cause no
data, I called tech support, went into store…you name. Then relaized
there were NO APN setting, I had to go to “ADD NEW” and dropped
everything in manually and BAM!!!! Shows the “H” instead of lower 3G connection and I am in business!!!!! I FREAGIN LOOOOOOVE this phone. You
should have SEEN people’s faces in the store all over my phone like
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!!!! Man, it is like a phone form the GODS…ICS or not. Seriously if ICS werent even mentioned to this point, no one care. The speed, functionality and feel is worth having it. as is the reason we almost buy anything we dont HAVE TO HAVE

The covers for the USB and HDMI ports presumably exist to stop dust entering and buggering up the device - it’s for people who buy the phone intending to use it for a year or so at least, rather than a few hours or however long it took to knock out this rather average review. Kudos for taking it out on to Chalk Farm Road, though, which was looking as splendid as ever!

Absolutely I’m interested in the aesthetics. Like many people I love Sony for their modern unique designs that, at least in the past, didn’t just follow the trends, it set them. The aluminum body, the transparent strip, the sharp lines and clean simplicity doesn’t just make the S a “good looking” phone, it makes a lusted beauty. That’s what I want, just with 4G. :)

Has HTC “managed” it? which of their phones are running ICS todag? is there a date from HTC samsung and so on when they are going to upgrade all their phoes from 2011? Sony has said end of march beginning of april. And the only maufacturer that has had acces to ICS before october is samsung being the ones developing the galaxy nexus, and yet the S2 isn’t running ICS..

Its not a case of there only being one phone running ICS at the moment, those that aren’t will be updated soon if they are flagships (GSII, HTC Sensation etc.). Sony shouldn’t be releasing a NEW top of the range phone in 2012 with old software. HTC, Samsung, Huawei and LG etc. have/will all manage/d to release phones with ICS why couldn’t sony? It has been out since October or so and they probably could have accessed it before then..HTC even has the usually collossal sense to incorporate and they still managed it. By the time Sony update it even the SII and sensation would have had ICS for a few months. So much for flagship..

how is it out of date? there is only one phone running ICS and that’s the vanilla kind. I would rather be able to buy my new phone now instead of waiting and then get the upgrade in a month as a nice perk.

You do realize that the Xperia S is not supposed to launch in the US…. they made Xperia Ion to be the flagship model in th states. It will probalby launch with ICS or ICS avalible on launchdate as a upgrade when you start the device. Oh yeah, the Ion is an LTE phone with sdcard slot….

Xperia S won’t get any carrier support unless sony is prepared for the butchering of its brand

1) ATT Sony Xperia S “SuperRocket”"
2) Verizon Sony Xperia S “XDroid”
3) TMobile XPeria S “UTouch”
4) Sprint Xperia S “S Max”
After the obligatory 6 month carrier testing as sony sells 200k units in 3g prepaid sim countries, the Xperia will be the ONLY flagship phone in the USA that does not have ICS or LTE. This has always been the story of sony’s “Leadership” in the mobile world. But hey, they are the only m nufacturer with the “floating glass” design. that worked out well for Sony’s plasma TVs, eh?
