Sony can  o longer claim an exclusive technology in the flat panel space.  3D is not exclusive nor compelling beyond sports and gaming.  Unless Sony finds a way to develope compelling technology, tjey wiol have to invest heavily in manufacturing like Samsung to corner the costs on components and volume which is something that Sony won’t do
