I got my Vita last week.

I was skeptical on how the OS would be when the Vita was first shown off. I figured the hardware would be good.

The OS is better than I imagined! Its not perfect but much better than I thought. Its smooth and fairly easy to navigate.

Good job Sony.

The Vita offering & supporting the full Android Marketplace alone would have almost guaranteed its success. You then would have had a device playing and supporting any games & media specifically developed for the Vita plus instant access to the massive collection of games and apps that make up the 2nd largest app source in existence (BIG bonus). I don't have any faith in Sony's ability to steadily support the Vita (given their digital & handheld support record), especially if sales start out low or hit a slump period. Rather than 'trying' to establish another app market, they should have just ridden off of a strong and growing wave. This would have also boosted exposure and interest right out of the gate, being paired with a huge brand in the mobile market (Android). I wouldn't even consider buying this device until a year after it releases.....
