Sony Vaio W netbook debuts

Sony didn't leave the netbook fan in the cold at CES this year and has unveiled the Vaio W netbook that is ecosensitive. The new Vaio W has a plastic case that is made from 23% recycled CDs. The reusable carry case the machine comes with is made from recycled PET bottles.

The machine has a 10.1-inch screen and a 250GB HDD. The screen is LED backlit with a resolution of 1366 x 768 and is available in white with a translucent green interior. The operating system is Windows 7 Starter edition.

There are various versions of the W on the Sony Style website for preorder at prices ranging from $449 to $599 and they are shipping at different times during January. I don't see the model with the green translucent interior on the site right now. Some of the cheaper models use the Atom N280 processor while others use the new N450.
